The Hayabusa Fight Gear project involved redesigning the website's menu for boxing gloves and creating new pages to help customers choose the right gloves and shoes. The redesign focused on organizing the menu based on the user's experience and skill level rather than the traditional category-based approach. Additionally, a comprehensive buying guide was created as a landing page for advertisements, providing valuable information to new clients and assisting them in making informed purchasing decisions.

The Problem

Customers visiting the Hayabusa website often found it challenging to navigate the traditional category-based menu for boxing gloves and boxing shoes. This structure did not cater to individual skill levels and experience, leading to confusion and a less personalized shopping experience. Additionally, there was a lack of guidance for customers who were unsure about which gloves or shoes were best suited for their needs, causing hesitation and potential loss of sales.

The Goal

The goal of the Hayabusa project was to redesign the boxing gloves and shoes menu to be based on the user's experience and skill level, improving the overall navigation and personalization of the site.

Additionally, we developed a comprehensive buying guide to be added to the main menu and also used for advertisements. This guide was designed to provide detailed, easy-to-understand information to help new clients select the right gear, ultimately boosting their shopping confidence and satisfaction.

Our ultimate objective was to streamline the shopping experience, deliver clear and helpful information, and increase customer satisfaction and conversion rates, aligning Hayabusa's online presence with modern e-commerce standards and user expectations.

The Solution

The solution to the challenges faced by Hayabusa's website users involved two strategic enhancements:

  1. Redesigning the Menu: Based on extensive R&D and customer feedback, the menu was reorganized according to experience and skill level, making it easier for users to find suitable products.

  2. Creating Buying Guides: New pages were added to help customers select the right gloves and shoes based on their skill level and specific needs. These buying guides also serve as landing pages for advertisements, offering expert advice and guidance to new clients, and have been integrated into the main menu.

User Testing

As we concluded the initial design stage of the Hayabusa project, we recognized the importance of ensuring our designs aligned with user needs. To achieve this, we developed a prototype to test and gather feedback from Hayabusa's target audience, allowing us to identify gaps in our research and gain valuable insights into user behavior.

Our research indicated that users struggled with navigating the menu based on collection names, as they were unfamiliar with the names and specific uses of each glove or shoe collection. Instead, they prioritized finding gear that matched their skill level and specific needs. This insight led us to test a new approach by organizing products by skill level and using less technical terms.

Through user testing, we discovered that this method significantly improved the user experience. Participants found it much easier to select the appropriate gear when products were categorized by their experience and needs. This approach not only enhanced navigation but also boosted their confidence in choosing the right products.

By incorporating this feedback, we were able to refine our guiding table and create a more intuitive and personalized shopping experience. This user-centered design strategy ensured that the final product resonated better with Hayabusa's audience, ultimately leading to higher customer satisfaction and conversion rates.

Personalizing Your Journey

Our goal from a business perspective was to optimize lead generation and increase conversions. We recognized that a significant percentage of users were abandoning the site before finding the right gloves or shoes, representing a lost opportunity to capture potential leads and convert them into customers.

To address this, we built a personalized user guide for gloves and shoes, tailored to match users' skill levels and needs. The guide avoided technical jargon, offering clear, easy-to-understand information. New users were directed to this page through advertisements and could also easily find it from the home menu.

By capturing data and analyzing user behavior, we provided personalized content and recommendations.

This approach re-engaged users, creating a more intuitive and user-friendly shopping experience, ultimately increasing customer satisfaction and conversion rates.
